Physical Endurance - Divers must be able to work in demanding environmental conditions for extended periods of time. Commercial diving is the closest many of us will ever get to being paid athletes. Commercial divers are paid to do a very physical job, and therefore are responsible for maintaining excellent physical shape.
Physical and Mental Strength - Commercial diving requires individuals to work with a variety of tools where leverage and control are critical. Moreover, commercial diving requires mental strength to endure long hours of oftentimes cold and uncomfortable conditions.
Team Work - Commercial diving is the ultimate team event, requiring close cooperation among team members. All of the work effort revolves around the team member in the water, but the job is not safe and successful without every one of the teammates.
Courage - Most commercial diving operations are conducted in harsh, and sometimes hazardous conditions. Many operations are conducted in confined space with zero visibility.
Pride - A successful commercial diver always takes pride in his work, from the planning stages of an operation to the post-dive procedures.
